Silver Bromide Mural by Richard Barlow

NRP has given the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association funds to help support improvements to commercial property within the boundaries of the Powderhorn Park neighborhood.

Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association will allocate businesses a minimum of $500 up to $5,000 for expenses covered under the Facade Improvement Program. The current program will fund projects while funds remain available.

An example of this below:

Minneapolis artist Richard Barlow has recently completed a mural on the alley side of Acme Awning, 3206 Bloomington Ave, thanks to a Clean City Minneapolis graffiti abatement grant through PPNA. Thanks to Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association, Ted Spear of Acme Awning, technical advice from Jimmy Longoria, as well as donations from Welna Ace Hardware, Savitt Brothers Paint and Valspar for making this possible.

The mural is part of Barlow's ongoing series of works based on a single nineteenth century landscape photograph by William Henry Fox Talbot, the inventor of the silver negative based photograph. It is based on one of his photos entitled "Reflected Trees."
