Wearing the hats of a volunteer enthusiast and business management professional has brought Tabitha Montgomery to pivot her career toward non-profit leadership. As the new Executive Director for the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association; she is ready to help advance the goals within the community. “Joining a dedicated and admired organization like PPNA affords me a unique opportunity to help harness the power of the neighborhood’s past in helping light the way for its future.” Ms. Montgomery has a deep respect for mission oriented organizations which place people at the heart of programming. As the current President of the Board of Directors for Mixed Blood Theatre; this role constantly reminds her of the need to serve and engage a dynamic mix of constituents. This is also the lens she uses in executing her responsibilities as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota/North Dakota Chapter. Given the importance of overseeing PPNA’s resources while championing community contributions and advocating for neighborhood advancements; her experience managing programs and departments within national for-profits like Macy’s, Best Buy and Deluxe provides a useful set of skills that will help her effectively serve as PPNA’s Executive Director.
Hannah Kamath, Program Coordinator . email@example.com Hannah was hired in September 2014 as PPNA’s Program Coordinator after working with the PPNA team on several special projects. She works with to support and elevate community programs, events, publications and projects. Hannah has over five years of experience working with nonprofit neighborhood organizations. She has worked with organizations on events, program development, strategic planning, communications, marketing, website development and organizational restructuring. She has studied Community Development at Minneapolis Community and Technical College and is continuing her education. Hannah also serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society.
Eric Wilson, Community Outreach & Program Coordinator . firstname.lastname@example.org Eric comes to PPNA with over 9 years of experience in community outreach and engagement. Prior to being hired as PPNA’s Outreach and Program Coordinator, Eric served with both the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps. In Peace Corps, Eric worked with Caribbean and indigenous communities in Costa Rica in order to develop a number of community development projects, such as a violence prevention art program and skill-formation recreational camps for youth. He extended his service for a third year in Costa Rica’s capital – San José – in order to help design a new model program of Peace Corps volunteer support being piloted in select countries worldwide. Upon his return to the U.S., Eric moved to the Twin Cities to complete a year of service with Minnesota GreenCorps as a Local Foods Outreach Organizer at the Cleveland Neighborhood Association in North Minneapolis. In this role, he managed a community garden, facilitated workshops, and co-instructed a greenhouse/garden-based elective course at North High School. He is proficient in Spanish, and also serves on the Board of Directors for People for Parks.
